Par 3 Tournament Rules
Ages 6-7: Red tees
- Maximum of eight strokes per hole
- Allowed to play the ball up one scorecard length from where it lies
- Allowed a free drop from any shot which is hit into a bunker
- Continuous putting on all holes, meaning they will putt until they have finished the hole
Ages 8-11: Gold tees
- Maximum of 10 strokes per hole
- Play the ball as it lies, meaning play the ball down
- Continuous putting on all holes, meaning they will putt until they have finished the hole
All Ages
If a dispute with a score occurs, the Marker’s score will prevail. Spectators will not be able to help with this issue; this is between the children and the Marker ONLY.
Property Rules
- Fences on holes 1 & 2 and wooded area behind holes 3, 5 and left of hole 6 are marked as penalty areas.
- You may play the ball as it is found, or drop under penalty of one stroke where the ball last crossed the margin (two club lengths no closer to the hole) of the penalty area.
USGA Rules Apply. Doubt to procedure: play alternate ball from area of question and record both scores. Rules committee will decide on the correct score at the scorer's table before the card is signed.
Caddies are strictly forbidden during tournament competition for all divisions.
Spectators
- All spectators on the Par 3 Course must stay behind the white gallery lines.
- All cell phones must be silenced or turned off. Any calls taken must be out of earshot of spectators and players.
- You cannot help your child on the course with rules, club selection, etc. You may get water/drinks for the children. You can give it to the Marker if they are in the area but you still must stay within the white gallery lines.
- ONLY tournament participants are permitted on the putting clock.
Participant’s cell phone must be turned off during the tournament. Breach of this rule will result in a two-stroke penalty.
